Next stop (unscheduled!) Loughborough ATS to sort out puncture. Very glad we took the spare wheel! W.Norths old yard at Sherburn in Elmet (Yorks) where the first RM's were scrapped. RM2208 passed through here in 1987 but not for scrap luckily! Arrival at York which was very busy! 'Rocky' beside the seaside at Scarborough. 'Rocky' resting with other buses at East Yorkshire Motor Services for the night at Scarborough. Scripps Garage in Goathland (or Aidensfield in Heartbeat). Whitby and the Magpie Cafe, famous for its fish and chips. Redcar and the Zetland Lifeboat Museum. With kind prior permission we were able to take Rocky across the Middlesbrough transporter bridge. Just off of the A1 south of Newcastle, here we are at the Angel of the North. Crossing the border at Carter Bar on the A68. It was such a great feeling to have got this far with Rocky! Jedburgh Abbey ruins whilst on our way to Edinburgh. A lovely place, well worth a visit. South Queensferry with the Forth rail bridge as background. Rocky returns to its old depot at Inchinnan near Glasgow where it used to operate for Clydeside Scottish in the 80's. Many thanks to McGills of Greenock who let Rocky sleep at their depot, seen here next to a 1950 Duple Guy Arab and a Mercedes Citaro. I've seen many things from the cab of an RM, but a cruise liner was a first for me! Greenock Esplanade. At the Scottish Vintage Bus Museum near Dunfermline, Rocky meets two old shed mates from his Clydeside days. Rocky meets up with preserved RM910 at the SVBM. Their paths will have crossed many times in the past in Glasgow. Rocky retraced his old steps on a Clydeside Tour in Glasgow. In torrential rain Rocky makes his way along Willowford Rd, Darnley. With the soon to be demolished Red Road flats behind, Rocky makes his way back into the city from Balornock. Rocky makes his way up Bawhirley Rd, Greenock with the Clyde behind. My old home town Kilmacolm. Rocky sits at Wateryetts Drive before setting off towards Paisley. After our visit to the SVBM we carried on heading north towards Inverness. Drumochter Summit on the A9. Time for a breather! Deserted roads in the Highlands. A86 near Dalwhinnie. Rocky is dwarfed by the mountains in Glencoe. This was such an amazing journey! More deserted roads as we head south towards Tyndrum on the A82. Rocky waits patiently outside our hotel room in Kilmarnock! Diesel at 135p per litre at Carlisle AND Nectar points could not be missed. We gently nosed (with plenty of assistance) in and backed out to take advantage Carnforth Station. Filming location of Brief Encounter. A very good and free museum is located on the station. Blackpool Illuminations! Motorcycling bears jump over three Routemasteresuqe' buses! Our evening trip along the front at Blackpool. Rocky sits alongside the largest brick building in the world, the old Tobacco Warehouse, Liverpool Docks. Penny Lane, Liverpool! About to enter Kingsway Tunnel in Liverpool, bound for New Brighton beach!
